Hi I'm Debbie,
In 2017 I returned to the UK from France where I ran, with my family, a farmhouse Bed and Breakfast for 11 years. I joined Bruntwood and worked on reception. Then Covid struck and I was furloughed for 3 months. Returning to work was great but then sadly I lost my dog of 15 years.
Huge life changing events make you re-evaluate so much and feeding people is something I have always loved. Seeing a gap in the market for good home cooked food I took a leap of faith and Nellie's Kitchen was born.
I’m offering homemade, high end products using locally sourced, British ingredients. Supporting local independent companies whenever possible.
My super cute lightweight Caterpod that has been purposely built in Gloucester, is a mobile unit and at the moment, will be primarily serving the corporate customers of Bruntwood Landmark House, Abney Hall and surrounding companies and people of Cheadle and Cheadle Hulme.
It gives me no end of pleasure when my family, friends and customers tell me they enjoyed what I have prepared for them. I adore sharing conversations about other people's love of food. Their 'Tastes of Home' and how it makes them feel. I love being in the kitchen and can’t wait to see you at Nellie’s Kitchen sometime soon.
Nellie was my wonderful Nan, a local lady born in 1920 in Audenshaw, where she lived all her life until the ripe old age of nearly 91. She was a wonderful hard working lady with a wicked, dry sense of humour. She was loved so much and is very much missed.
Whenever I came to visit, I was spoiled rotten, after all, I was her first grandchild! She would make the most delicious meat and potato pot pie in a deep earthenware dish. This is one of my ‘Tastes of Home’ and my inspiration for my new journey and exciting adventure with Nellie’s Kitchen.
